Why Study Computational Science?
Modern science, medicine, and engineering increasingly rely on modeling and data analysis to explore the natural world, build, and solve problems. Given this critical importance, computational modeling has been and will continue to play a central role in new developments of the 21st century.
Self-Paced Computational Science Certificate:
This unique online/on-site certificate program introduces high school students to computational thinking and data analysis along with applications in science and medicine. The program consists of three units taught by Dr. Kucukkal:
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis for monthly session. A new session starts each month. When filling out the form, indicate which session you would like to be in (the month).
Once your application is complete with payment; you will be provided access to the courses for a month. All exit projects are due at the end of the session.
All courses will close on the last day of each month. Each course has five modules and each module requires 1-3 hour time commitment.
Cost: $60/course or $160 for all three courses
- Course 1: Introduction to Data Science and R Programming
- Course 2: Computer Coding Applications in Science
- Course 3: Molecular Modeling in Chemistry & Biology
